Who makes the best wine? France or Italy?
Some arguments can’t be resolved without a showdown. Let’s do it!
It’s a long established rivalry: Italy proudly produces the most wine in the world; however, France makes the most expensive wine in the world (in the list of 50 most expensive wines in the world, bar twelve, they are all French!). Both countries, unsurprisingly, claim to ‘make the best wine in the world’.
Let’s put it to the taste test…
The fight of the fizz: Prosecco vs. Champagne.
Who makes the classiest white? Chablis vs. Gavi.
The biggest and the most beautiful red? Barolo vs. Bordeaux.
We’ll taste some of these pairs blind (e.g. the bottle will be covered up, not like Fifty Shades of Grey), to really put their quality to the test. Get excited about this tasting, because this is a rare opportunity to taste these wines side by side!
With amazing cheese from the killer-cheese team at The Cheeseboard in Harrogate.
