Phil Heselton: In Search of the New Forest Coven
Gerald Gardner claimed to have been initiated into what he called “the witch cult” in September 1939. Philip has been researching the people involved in the group into which Gardner was initiated and is currently writing a book about them. He will be speaking about his latest findings
Ashley Mortimer: Ancient Beliefs-Modern Practices
Ashley Mortimer, trustee of the Doreen Valiente Foundation and director of the Centre For Pagan Studies, poses the question; Do the earliest developments of human religion contain threads of belief and practice that may have not only survived but been revived and reconstructed in contemporary practices like Wicca? Drawing on research from the legacies of Doreen Valiente and Gerald Gardner, Ashley focuses in on modern Witchcraft and Paganism's rise to
Popularity during the 20th century with references to its ancient roots.
Richard Freeman: Into the unknown:my search for unknown creatures
Famous cryptozoologist Richard talks about his hunts for Mongolian Death Worms, Russian Yeti and other creatures
Workshops
Kathy Rowan: Make a Simple Goddess and God for your altar
In this workshop you will be painting pebbles to make simple representations of the Goddess and God. This workshop is suitable for everyone and will give you the opportunity to take home something special that you have made at the end of the Conference. The energy and intention that you will put into your creation is a magical act, so we shall begin the workshop with a brief pathworking to invite the Lord and Lady to inspire us and guide our work.
Gordon Mewse: Making Fith Faths and Poppets
Gordon explains the uses and manufacture of witchcraft dolls. This will be a make and take workshop.
Stingwray: Storytelling for Myth and Legend
A storytelling workshop looking at myth and legend telling
