The art of henna or known as mehndi in Hindi & Urdu cultures, has been practiced for over 5000 years in Pakistan, India, Africa and the Middle East.
Henna was originally used because of its natural cooling properties by those who lived in desert areas. The stain from the henna mixture would provide a cooling sensation as long as it stayed on the skin and as it faded away, it would leave patterns that lead to the idea to create designs for decorative purposes.
Henna is traditionally used for special occasions like weddings, birthdays and holidays.
Why not come and get a henna design? We’ll see you there.
