We are on our way to taking our piece 'Brenda's got a baby' to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this year!
Play description —
Brenda is 16 and pregnant, Amy is the first in her family to go to university. What could possibly go wrong? This brand-new verbatim play explores the struggles that young, working class women face. We are working class and attend university. We recognise the difficulties women like us face when trying to be a mother and study. We want to raise awareness of the struggles and pressures that these women face and the systems in place such as universal credit and whether they really are enough in this current political and economic climate.
To be able to get there we are fundraising to help us make such an impact and raise awareness for such important issues with this piece of theatre. So please help us out by coming along to this event!
It is £3 entry and tickets can be bought on the door.
There will be an evening of local talent sharing and entertaining from theatre performance, spoken word to music and singing.
Please join us to help us celebrate our amazing journey so far and see us through to the Edinburgh Fringe.
