Morning session: hands-on activities and demonstrations from local groups and societies
10.45am: Underground tour of Caphouse colliery entering via the drift mine accompanied by a geologist and ex-miner guide
11:15am: Underground tour of Caphouse colliery
Book on the day at the Museum reception.
12pm: Surface walk to Hope Pit entrance accompanied by a geologist to look at an exposure of coal-bearing rocks.
Afternoon session: 'Quakes and Shakes'
2pm-5pm: Illustrated talks on the effects of earth movements on our planet.
