Maria Ferguson is a writer and performer from Romford, Essex. She has been a resident artist for both Roundhouse and Battersea Arts Centre — BAC, where she has developed and performed exciting new work blending spoken word, theatre and movement.
She has performed her poetry extensively across the UK and collaborated with prestigious venues such as Albany Deptford, Bristol Old Vic, Rich Mix London and Southbank Centre, as well as popular spoken word artists PolarBear (Spoken Word Poet), Scroobius Pip, John Berkavitch and Kate Tempest.
Her début one woman show 'Fat Girls Don't Dance' won Best Spoken Word Show at the 2017 Saboteur Awards, and she scratches her follow-up 'Essex Girl' at Battersea Arts Centre on 23 and 24 February.

Toria Garbutt is a spoken word artist from Knottingley, West Yorkshire. She burst onto the scene when appearing with A Firm Of Poets in summer 2015, and has gone on to become one of the most exciting poets in the UK. She's currently one of the main tour supports for iconic punk poet Dr John Cooper Clarke, and regularly headlines nights around the country.
Her début album 'Hot Plastic Moon' was released via Nymphs & Thugs in May 2016, and she has appeared at festivals including Glastonbury Festival (official), Latitude Festival, Festival Number 6 and Port Eliot Festival.

Matt Abbott is a spoken word artist from Wakefield, West Yorkshire. Having first made an impact on the indie music scene in late 2006, he's gone on to establish himself as one of the leading new poets on the UK's national scene. His one-man show 'Two Little Ducks' earned 5* reviews during a full run at last summer's Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and he's set to tour it extensively around UK this year.
He founded the Nymphs & Thugs label in Spring 2015, and has recently shared a stage with names ranging from Paul Weller and Sleaford Mods to Jeremy Corbyn and Ken Loach.

Nymphs & Thugs are an independent spoken word record label, formed in spring 2015. Based between Leeds and London, they are rapidly growing in reputation as an innovative and alternative poetry publisher. Their latest release, Salena Godden's 'LIVEwire' album, was given 5* in The i Paper and was shortlisted for The Poetry Society's Ted Hughes Award for New Work in Poetry. This year they are set to produce three UK tours, as well as launching the 'SOAPBOX' night at Seven Arts.
