For the second 'Chris Sharkey presents...' night at Chapel FM, Chris will be performing with master drummer Joost Hendrickx (Kefaya, Shatner's Bassoon). The two musicians will also be in conversation with John Toolan discussing their experiences of playing jazz and improvised music.
Chris Sharkey is musician-in-residence at Chapel FM, creating new work as part of an Arts Council funded project. During his time at Chapel FM he will also be making a series of presentations with other artists about his work.
The first instalment in October focused on background and jazz history, SHARKEY II will dig a little deeper into the music itself and look at rhythm, repertoire and the potential role of improvisation in modern life.
As always, there will be a Q&A and discussion along the way so be ready to chime in — The more the merrier!
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Parking is very limited at the Centre but there are plenty of options and good public transport links—http://chapelfm.co.uk/contact/
And how much does it cost?
We try to keep all our events at Chapel FM as cheap and accessible as possible. This is a Pay-what-you-can gig. We like to make as many as our events at Chapel FM truly affordable so we ask you to decide what you can afford to contribute £2, £5, £8… We won't take any money upfront but you can reserve yourself a ticket through eventbrite and then make your contribution on the door on the night. All moneys raised goes straight back into supporting our work at Chapel FM.
Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?
