— Team Picture
One of the most hotly tipped Leeds bands are headlining our Valentine's extravaganza, and we couldn't be more excited. Team Picture are a six-piece from Leeds that first came to light in 2016 when they released their first single ‘Birthday Blues' — a six-minut, psych-y, shoe-gazy masterpiece. Since that release, they've gone on to release four other singles that each flaunt a different side to the band. As well as releasing several top-notch singles, they've got an excellent live show to match. With a few tricks up their sleeves for the Valentine's special, this is not a show to be missed.
The Howl & The Hum
York lads in The Howl & The Hum have been mixing up quite a storm in recent months, what with 'Manea' being track-listed on Radio 1, AND a live session with Tom Robinson on BBC Radio 6 Music. All happening for perfectly good reason; because they're quite simply remarkable. Lyricist, Sam Griffiths, is an exceptional songwriter, and their dark melodic-pop is exquisite. You just need to listen to their latest single 'Portrait I' to realise that.
Opening up our Valentine's special is the spectacular Larissa. Why is she so spectacular? First up, she produces all her beats and synths live, using her voice as an instrument by looping it, making her a one-woman band. Impressive, right? She’s inspired by post-punk, and 80’s nostalgia which makes for a really unique, dark sound that I can’t get enough of.
What would you rather be doing on Valentine's?
