On Friday 12th January North Brewing Co and Basqueland Brewing Project are joining forces to brew a collab here in Leeds. The recipe suggestions currently flying back and forth over the emails are sounding seriously special with Kevin's experience as a chef throwing up some great suggestions of ingredients to experiment with. Keep your eyes peeled for news of what they cook up together.
As the brewers are in town, it would only be right to show them a little of what we do here at North and drink some of their delicious beers together. They will be taking over the taps at North Bar and in the bar chatting all things Basqueland Beer.
Imparable — Imparable IPA is Basqueland's most popular beer. It's a West Coast-style IPA. Medium body with a rich, golden color. The aroma is a mix of papaya, pineapple, guava and pine resin.
SSD DIPA — The SSD stands for San Sebastian-San Diego. It’s an 8.5% DIPA that is a tropical fruit bomb. The 8.5% ABV is very well integrated making this hop-bomb exceptionally easy drinking. Dry-hopped with Ella and Vic Secret.
Gatza Gose — This is Basqueland’s first sour inspired by the traditional gose from Leipzig, Germany. It is light golden with a touch of haze. Basque sea salt added during brewing makes this beer a light yet savory at the same time. It’s a perfect low ABV beer for summer-sipping or to enjoy with food, preferably Basque.
No'rway Jose — This is Basqueland’s first in-house collaboration done with the inimitable Lervig Brewery from Stavanger, Norway. This IPA showcases the best of both breweries’ styles. Lervig’s big, juicy IPAs, and Basqueland’s tendency for laser-guided, surgical sharpness of hops. Dry-Hopped with Equinox & Mosaic.
Txotx — “Txotx” (rhymes with coach) is a basque call to drink together from a massive barrel of sidra. No cider here! Just a fruity, west coast session ipa made In the heart of “sidra country”. Dry-hopped with vic secret and ella. “Just txotxing bro”.
Equinox — Hazy and clean. Light acididity from the wheat with a citrusy (lime) hop profile, a charateristic of the Ekuanot hop.
Aupa — It's a classic California-style pale ale. Citrus, lightly bitter and refreshing. Sessionable. Medium body and brass colored.
Chucker — Juicy session IPA made in collaboration with Magic Rock, brewed at their brewery.
