In Ayurvedic Yoga Massage workshops, we demonstrate a short ayurvedic yoga massage sequence to massage, mobilise and stretch a particular part of the body.
We’ll then split into pairs, so you can practice what you’ve just learned on each other, ask any questions that might arise, and receive a great massage as well.
The focus is on learning to offer a very effective massage in a way that is comfortable and enjoyable for you. We focus on energy, breathing, refining awareness in the touch and body mechanics, apart from the massage technique (massage strokes and stretches), to make sure that both you and the people you are massaging will have a wonderful experience and feel great during and after your session.
Massage can be a wonderful meditation both for the person giving and the person receiving it. You are present, focused on the breathing and the sensations in your body/your hands (depending on whether you are giving or receiving), and having a loving intention towards your client or loved one. At the end of the workshops usually all the participants are blissful and beaming!
In this Back and Shoulders workshop we will cover massaging the back and shoulders with the hands, and carrying out some relevant stretches. Loosening up the areas around the spine has a great impact on ease of movement; and releasing the areas around the rib cage helps to make breathing easier.
