✅ Freshers Fair Part I // 10:00am — 3:00pm:
Get ready for free food, discount vouchers and games as well as the chance to meet your Sports Clubs and Societies face-to-face as this is what Freshers’ Fair is all about! Don’t miss out on your chance to walk away with tonnes of exciting free stuff, head onto campus to get involved in everything student life has to offer here at the University of Huddersfield.

Freshers' Fair is free but make sure you get down early to make the most of it and avoid the queue!

🎟 HudComedy // 7:00pm — 11:00pm:
HudComedy is more than just your average comedy gig – hosted in the Lawrence Batley Theatre just across from campus, we’re proud to announce that our HudComedy Headline Act for Freshers' Festival 2017 is the brilliant Chris Ramsey!

As well as our huge headliner we have a fantastic supporting line-up including Kelly Convey, Tom Lucy, Andy White and Adam Rowe as Compere!



✅ Freshers' Fair Part II // 10:00am — 3:00pm:
Can’t make Part I on Monday or fancy another go round? No problem – Freshers’ Fair returns with even MORE free stuff, tonnes of discount vouchers, and more Sports Clubs and Societies than you can shake a stick at. This is your last chance to grab as much free stuff as you can, so get on to campus and embrace everything student life has to offer at the University of Huddersfield!

Freshers' Fair is free but to get the most of out the day get down early! (Might help avoid the queue too!)

🎟 HudCrawl // 8:00pm — Late:
HudCrawl is Huddersfield’s biggest night out where you’ll visit 8 of the town’s best bars and clubs! Make sure you grab your ticket early so you don’t miss out, it’s the perfect opportunity to meet other new students as 2,000 of you will get to see what Huddersfield town centre has to offer.

You’ll get a t-Shirt on the night which gives your entry into 6 bars and 2 clubs, with pre-drink prices until 10pm (including a mixture of alcoholic and soft drinks, look out for the pink posters). As well as all that you’ll get; free sweets, bottled water and finally your own SU staff team will be showing you around town to make sure you have the best night!

HudCrawl always sells out, so get your ticket quickly!

✅ HudMovies // 11:00am — 3:00pm
If you’re feeling a bit overwhelmed with induction info or just fancy a break after HudCrawl, head up to your Students’ Union for HudMovies. Sit back and relax on our comfy sofas and watch some fantastic new to DVD films (as voted for by you!), whilst snacking on sweets and popcorn, all on us. It’s the perfect opportunity to bring your new flatmates and course mates along to something a little more chilled during Freshers’ Week.

HudMovies is a free event but get down early to grab the comfiest spot

✅ Food & Craft Fair // 10:00am — 3:00pm:
This one’s for all the famished foodies, crafty collectors and pastry professionals – join us on University Square for our Food & Craft Fair. During the Fair you can fill your faces, buy some unique items to decorate your new digs or add some cool new clothes to your uni wardrobe all while supporting local businesses!

The Food & Craft Fair is a free event so get down early to see the full range of products on offer!

✅ Basketball Showcase // 6:00pm:
Introducing our Basketball Showcase game this Freshers’! Join us to watch our league-winning University Basketball Club take on Varsity rivals Bradford in a showcase of skill, teamwork and sportsmanship. Get a taste of what sports clubs in the University have to offer and kick-start the Varsity 2018 banter early at this one-off event!

The exhibition is free to attend so get down early to get a good seat!

✅ Huddersfield River of Arts and Music Festival 2017 // 12:00pm — 2pm:
This September Huddersfield will be welcoming a brand new music festival, celebrating the best of the vibrant music scene. Taking place in some of the most well-known Huddersfield venues around the town centre, those attending will be presented a varied programme of popular music, from folk and funk to rock and indie.

Part of Freshers Week 2017, and set up by the University of Huddersfield in partnership with Huddersfield Creative Arts Network, this unique event is open to everyone! — A festival you truly do not want to miss out on!



✅#TBT Retro Tea Party // 10:00am — 3:00pm:
Free tea, cake, coffee and confectionery? Enough said!
Come on down to the Students’ Union to enjoy a slice of cake, steaming cup of tea or coffee and relax in our psychedelic, retro themed event!

Meet new people and get to know your SU Officers. The Retro Tea Party is free so get down early to get the best tea and cake!

✅#TBT Vintage Fair at The University of Huddersfield // 10:00am — 3:00pm:
It’s time to treat yourself and grab a bargain at the Vintage Clothing Fair. We’ll be welcoming a number of stalls to the University Square, including a range of clothes, jewellery, accessories and some cute gifts.

Take your time and browse the stalls at this free event, but as with all things vintage, you’ll want to come early to grab the best bargain!

🎟 #Freshers' Festival 2017 #TBT Back To School Party // 10:00pm — Late:
It’s time to let off some steam before you enter the next stage of your life by celebrating the best days of your teens with our #TBT Back to School Party. We’ve put together a night full of throwback hits, old school artists and best of all you get the chance to wear that tie again.

The Line-Up:
Big Brovaz, Booty Luv, Platnum and Sweet Female Attitude. We've created a Spotify playlist to get you in the mood!



✅ Feelgood Friday // 10:00am — 3:00pm:
Take time out of your busy week to relax at the Feelgood Friday event, brought to you by our very own Advice Centre.
Feelgood Friday combines a mixture of activities to help you de-stress, relax and get ready for all the hard work which is about to begin! You’ll have the chance to meet some cute puppies, in conjunction with Guide Dogs For the Blind UK, play a round of crazy golf on our own University mini greens, meet and talk to local advice groups and relax in our chilled corner. The Advice Centre will also be on hand in their Advice Tent, take an opportunity to say hello and find out more about what they do!

Feelgood Friday is a free event but golf clubs will be limited so get there early to avoid any queues!

🎟 HudLive // 5:00pm — Late:
HudLive is the biggest event all year, bar none.

Following on from 2016’s huge head liners Sub Focus and Becky Hill, we’ve pulled out all the stops bringing you an even bigger and better live music event based at Storthes Hall.

Expect a true festival experience with food tents, funfair rides, chill out zones and some good weather (fingers crossed!). You’ll be able to enjoy the sounds of our biggest headliner to date Chase and Status, alongside our brilliant supporting line-up including Karen Harding, Kiss the Thief and John Gallagher. We’ve also got a few more surprises that we’ll be announcing as we get closer to the event, so stay tuned!

✅ Holmfirth Food & Drink Festival // All Day:
This is a great opportunity to visit the market town of Holmfirth, in the heart of the Holme Valley, situated amongst the towering hills of the magnificent Pennines. As always, the local organisers of this annual event will showcase all the excellent food & drink the surrounding areas have to offer.

Aiming to showcase local, Fairtrade and ethical businesses, the Food & Drink Festival promises to be a lively, engaging and interactive addition to our Freshers’ line-up with live music and competitions for all.

While the Holmfirth Food & Drink Festival runs on both the Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th, the International Office is running coach trips from the University on Saturday 23rd only. Pop over to see them for more info.



✅HudQuiz // 8:00pm — 10:00pm:
Let's get quizzical! HudQuiz is a Freshers’ favourite and a great way to wind down after a week packed full of events and induction overload. Hosted at The Zetland — the Official Huddersfield Students' Union Venue

There’ll be plenty of big prizes up for grabs so make sure you are clued up to be in with a chance of winning! You’ll be in teams so it’s another great opportunity to further get to know your new friends or make more!

No tickets are required entry is just £1 per person, payable on the night so getting there early is recommended.
