Join us for a ticketed event during the third Whitelock's annual beer festival as we offer up a tutored beer tasting with the incredibly rare brewery, The Bruery. Ticket price includes samples of five very rare beers to the UK (see beer list below) and tutored tasting by The Bottle Shop.
Based in California, the name derived from the owners surname (Rue) and the word brewery! Opened in 2008 and now has a 15 barrel brewhouse, which means all their beers are rare as volumes are low! The Bruery's products are considered to be experimental ales brewed in the Belgian tradition.
THE BEER LIST
— Melange #14 13.4% (American strong ale) Ratebeer top 50 — 85% ale aged in bourbon barrels, 15% Imperial Stout
— Sour In The Rye 7.8% (Sour/wild ale) 99/100 ratebeer. Sour in the Rye is an American wild ale. A challenging beer to brew due to the substantial amount of rye malt, but you’ll be glad we did!
— Mash & Vanilla 13.3% (Barley Wine) 99/100 ratebeer. This is our classic bourbon barrel-aged barleywine – kicked up a notch with fresh vanilla beans.
— Frucht Yumberry 4.7% (berliner Weisse with added Yumberry) nown for a tart flavor profile and traditionally low ABV, our German-style wheat beer gains even more funky notes and natural earthy-woodiness from its fermentation in the large oak foeder vessel.
— Hottenroth 3.1% (berliner Weisse) This tart, German-style Berliner Weisse is as authentic as it gets. We use lactobacillus and a hint of brettanomyces to sour this very unusual, low gravity wheat beer.
